Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit the form on this site, we collect your name, email address, cell phone number, ZIP code, your pet's name, information about your pet, and anything you choose to write in the open comment field. If you provide a street address, we collect that too.
Information from calls. When you call us or we call you, we record the details needed to schedule and complete service. We do not record calls.
Information collected automatically. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they view. It does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising trackers, pixels, or session recording.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- Contact you about your request
- Determine whether we serve your area and what the service will cost
- Locate your home and schedule a pickup
- Complete the cremation and return your pet's remains
- Maintain records identifying your pet through every step of our custody
- Send you service-related messages, including confirmations and updates
- Meet recordkeeping obligations that apply to our business
The open comment field exists so you can tell us what is happening in your own words. We read it before we call you. We use it only to serve you better.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it is necessary to deliver the service.
Our cremation partner. We provide the information needed to identify your pet and complete cremation.
Service providers. We use Zoho for our forms, email, and customer records, and Cloudflare for website hosting and analytics. These companies process information on our behalf and under our instructions.
When required by law. We will disclose information if compelled by a valid legal request.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or lead aggregators. We do not use it for targeted advertising.
Calls and text messages
By providing your phone number, you agree that we may call and text you about your service request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving them. Stopping texts does not stop us from calling you about active service.
We will not send you marketing texts.
How long we keep it
We keep service records for as long as we are required to, and for as long as they may be useful to you. Records that identify your pet and document our custody are kept because you may need them later, and because we may need them to answer a question about what we did.
If you contacted us but never used our service, tell us and we will delete your information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, get a copy of it, correct it, ask us to delete it, and opt out of the sale of personal information or targeted advertising. We do neither of those last two.
Colorado residents have these rights under the Colorado Privacy Act. Residents of other states may have similar rights under their own laws.
To exercise any of these, email aarupets@aarupets.com or call (303) 210-6563. We will verify your identity before acting on the request. We will not treat you differently for making one.
If we deny your request and you are a Colorado resident, you may appeal by replying to our response. You may also contact the Colorado Attorney General.
Security
We use reputable service providers and limit access to your information to people who need it to do their work. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on this page.
